ACT I

The approach by the pastel: 1989, first studio works, nude

From lines to color the support could be appropriate by touch. The contact of fingers on the medium paper was the main vector of this work. The dry pastel with its richness of colour and its single aspect was perfectly appropriate to me.

The nude studies with fatty pastels are far from those made with dry pastels because my fingers were not in contact with the paper

ACT II

Engravings and Monotypes

From etched engravings to work on plexiglass, the richness of the black colors, its force inspired me some topics : immobility, music and movement. These works have been made in the same time that the new approach of the color by the gouache.
During the same period, the monotype has been the pretext to find other materials, to use differents techniques (torn and stuck pieces of papers) and addition of fatty pastels to go more easily beyond
reality.

ACT III

The colour and the gouache

The color came gradually on my pallet and the gouache has been the principal tool of this accession. The still life are worked with a free gesture and the more this gesture has been large, the more it has been accompanied by the color. All the colors have been used, except the ground hues to exclude all the natural elements as
well as the reds. These forms are animated by color and by the body language. They are neither dead nor alive, but they exist through the vibration and the emotion that they induce.
